The EBC Trek is an utterly life-changing experience, but for man,y the end destination isn’t in fact Everest Base Camp. It’s the day hike before dawn to Kala Patthar, a minor peak with perhaps the premier view of Mount Everest, the fullest view of Mount Everest. The route to Everest Base Camp is an amazing journey… but the hike to Kala Patthar is the pièce de résistance and provides an intimate, up close and 360-degree glimpse of the world’s highest mountain and its mighty neighbours.
